Lucky Scots EuroMillions jackpot winner claims £1.8 million prize

A lucky lotto winner from Scotland has scooped a bumper £1.8m festive payday after their numbers came in on the EuroMillions.

Bosses announced they received a claim for the EuroMillions prize draw December 11 from West Lothian.

The ticket-holder matched the five main numbers and one Lucky Star number - earning a cool £1,886,380.

There were no details on whether the ticket belonged to an individual or syndicate or where, exactly, it was bought.

National Lottery operator Camelot’s Andy Carter said: “What an amazing Christmas gift for a lucky ticket-holder who has claimed their prize.

“We will now focus on supporting the ticket-holder through the process.”

Before the winner can start splashing the cash, the claim will go through the usual validation process.

Carter added: “In the current situation in the West Lothian area, local retail outlets remain open for people to play in-store.”

The December 11 jackpot was won by a French ticket-holder while five lucky UK players picked up £1.8M by matching the five main numbers and one Lucky Star number.

Lotto players helped raise £800m this year for good causes including charities and organisations affected by the coronavirus outbreak.

Players have 180 days from the day of the draw to claim their prize with more details on 0333 234 5050 or email help@national-lottery.co.uk.
