Lucky puppy becomes first dog of 2022 to be adopted from Dogs Trust in Dublin

This lucky puppy has become the first dog of 2022 to be adopted from Dogs Trust in Dublin.

Kadi was taken home by her new owners on Wednesday, making her mark as the first pooch of 2022 to leave the charity.

The Finglas-based charity re-homed 862 dogs last year.

A Dogs Trust spokesperson said they "love saying goodbye - even if we'll miss them".

They said on social media: "Best of luck to our very first pup going home in 2022! Join us in wishing Kadi and her new family a very happy life together. Unlike most people, we love saying goodbye - even if we'll miss them!

"We were delighted to rehome 862 dogs to wonderful forever homes in 2021, all thanks to your support! If you would like to keep helping save more dogs this year, please donate via www.dogstrust.ie/donate.

"If you are interested in adopting, please call us on 01-879-1000 (Option 2). Please note we are receiving a high volume of calls and emails each day, so we apologise if there is a delay in our response."
