A lucky Irish punter was €80,000 richer after a double on Tiger Roll and Tiger Woods paid off in some style.
2019 has been the year of the tiger in the sporting world as Woods donned his fifth green jacket on Sunday evening only a few weeks after Tiger Roll won a second Grand National.
Boylesports offered 80/1 on the stripy double and one brave punter put €1,000 down.
Tiger Roll got the ball rolling with another incredible success in the Grand National in the hands of Davy Russell.
It was then on the shoulders of golf legend Woods who was seeking for his first major win in 11 years.
And the stars aligned for the lucky punter as the 43-year-old kept his nerve to complete a famous comeback at Augusta National.
Boylesports' Lawrence Lyons said: "We were still assessing the overall damage on Sunday evening but it’s safe to say the payout on the Tiger double is well into the six-figures.
"One customer alone is €80,000 richer after investing €1,000 on the two winners which, although popular with customers, we just didn’t see happening as both events are so hard to win.”
He added: “To come back and win the Grand National for the 2 time was a stunning achievement for Tiger Roll, but Tiger Woods’ Augusta heroics capped off one of sport’s greatest ever comebacks and it’s one we’re going to remember for quite some time for more reason than one.”
