Lucky neighbours to share thousands of pounds after surprise lottery win

Eight lucky neighbours will share thousands of pounds between them after a surprise lottery win.

The residents living on Broxholme Way, in Maghull, welcomed the cash prize when L31 5PL was announced as the winner of the People's Postcode Lottery.

Those on the street who had been playing the game, will receive £1,000 each thanks to their lucky postcode.

People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador Danyl Johnson sent his well-wishes to the winners.

He said: “Congratulations to our winners! What a great surprise for them, I hope they treat themselves to something nice with their winnings.”

This is the third time in two weeks that a Merseyside street has been the lucky winners of the postcode lottery.

On Tuesday, April 14, twelve people living on Blackthorn Crescent, in Stockbridge Village, netted £1,000 each.

Just days later, on April 18. another five lucky lottery winners living in Wirral were also announed.

The neighbours of CH62 6EL in Bromborough, are celebrating cashing in on the £1000 prize.

Playing the People's Postcode Lottery costs £10 a month and winning postcodes are announced everyday.

A minimum of 32% of ticket sales goes directly to charities and players of People’s Postcode Lottery have raised over £500 million to date for thousands of good causes in Britain and beyond.

Tuesday's draw was promoted by Oxfam which has received over £9.6 million in funding from the players of People’s Postcode Lottery.

Oxfam is a global movement of people working together to end the injustice of poverty.

It supports disaster relief efforts, educational programmes, health initiatives and much more in over 90 countries worldwide.

Many good causes close to the winners have also benefitted from players’ support, and local charities can next apply for funding in August.
