Lucky National Lottery ticket holder has scooped jackpot win of £11.1m

A National Lottery ticket holder has scooped £11million, with another winner also landing the Set For Life top prize.

Camelot UK has received a claim for the £11,165,532 Lotto jackpot from August 14.

It has also received a claim for the Set For Life draw from August 19, which entitles the winner to £10,000 a month for 30 years.

Camelot is now reviewing the claims to make sure the rules have not been broken.

Camelot’s Andy Carter, senior winners’ advisor at The National Lottery, said: “What amazing news for not one but two lucky ticket-holders who have now claimed their life-changing multi-million pound Lotto and Set For Life prizes. We will now focus on supporting the ticket-holders through the process."

It comes after Camelot appealed for the winners of the Lotto and Set For Life draws to step forward and claim their prizes.

In March, a couple claimed they missed out on a £182m EuroMillions jackpot when their numbers were drawn but their ticket payment didn’t go through.

Rachel Kennedy, 19, and Liam McCrohan, 21, have been left “absolutely heartbroken” when they realised their usual numbers of 6, 12, 22, 29, 33, 6 and 11 had come up.

They had played the same numbers for five weeks in a row, before all seven digits appeared in the draw on the 26th February.

Meanwhile a Lotto winner who doubled his fortune by investing in property is selling the mansion he built with his windfall.

Karl Crompton was just 23 years old when he scooped a £10.9million jackpot in 1996.

But instead of squandering it he built up a buy-to-let business, increasing his wealth to an estimated £22million.

Three years after his win he spent £1.5million building his dream five-bedroom home on the site of an old hospital.

The 6,500sq ft Gothic mansion, set in 10 acres, is now worth an estimated £5m and is described by estate agents as “one of the finest homes in rural Fylde”.

The Lancashire bolthole has a swimming pool and three reception rooms, with an impressive double staircase in the entrance hall and garaging for four cars.

The master bedroom has a turret window overlooking the grounds, with a balcony, dressing room and en suite bathroom.

Despite his wealth Karl, now 48, is not afraid of hard work. Two months ago he was seen pushing a wheelbarrow of cement on a building site as he helped out with a property redevelopment in Blackpool.
