Christmas came for one lucky Meath punter on Thursday after they took home over €12,500 from a €1 horse racing bet.
The luck was on their side as the each way bet, amounting to a €2 total stake, came through, with four winners at racing in England landing the Royal County punter a handsome €12,613.
Dropping into a local BoyleSports, the punter picked four horses in action at Wolverhampton and it wasn't long before the celebrations would begin.
The first winner came in the 7.00 race as Dynamo Walt obliged at 14/1 to get the bet off to a flying start.
The next winner was in the 7.30 race with Dubai Elegance winning at 10/1. In the 8.00 race it was 7/1 chance Necoleta who landed the spoils, followed by Butterfield, who completed the stunning run in the 8.30 race at 17/2.
“Hats off to our Meath customer who managed to land four nicely priced winners in their small wager to collect a handsome amount of €12,613.87.
"We wish our client the best of luck with their winnings and happy spending over the Christmas season," Sarah Kinsella, spokesperson for BoyleSports said.
