Lucky Lotto player scoops €8.5 million jackpot in tonight's draw

Lotto players should be checking their tickets after one lucky winner scooped over €8,500,000 on tonight's Lotto draw.

There was just one winner of the total jackpot of €8,530,884.

The winning numbers were 7, 24, 27, 33, 34, and 40.

The bonus number was 30.

There were no winners of the Lotto Plus 1 or 2 top prizes.

In the Lotto Plus 1 draw - worth a €1million - the numbers drawn were 1, 8, 28, 31, 34, 38 and bonus number 29.

And in the €250,000 Lotto Plus 2 draw, the winning digits were 23, 24, 27, 29, 40, 44 and bonus ball 41.

Wednesday's winning raffle number was 3575, with 83 players claiming €500 each.

Last week a south Dublin Spar store was celebrating after they made a customer Ireland's newest millionaire .

The lucky player scooped €1 million in the Lotto Plus 1 draw.

The winning Quick Pick ticket was sold on the day of the draw at The Belfry Spar store in Citywest.

Warren Brennan, the manager of the winning store, has urged locals to check their tickets as it was more than likely sold to someone from the area.

He said: "The staff in the store are absolutely buzzing, knowing that somebody who came into the store yesterday is now a millionaire, it’s truly incredible.

"The store is situated in the heart of a large residential area here in Citywest so the likelihood is that one of the local residents is a brand new millionaire. Whoever they are, we wish them every bit of luck with their million euro win."

A National Lottery spokesperson said: “It was a bumper night of winnings for a large number of players in Wednesday night’s Lotto draw.

"We are asking all of our players to check their tickets to see if they have won a prize.

"For our players who play online, if you have won the €112,078 prize, an email will be waiting in your inbox with this brilliant news.

"If you are one of the big winners, please contact our prize claims team on 1800 666 222 or email claims@lottery.ie and we will make arrangements for you to collect your prize."
