Lucky Lotto player scoops €1 million jackpot as Lotto Plus 1 prize is won

A lucky player has won €1million in Ireland's National Lottery.

The Lotto announced that a fortunate punter took home the Lotto Plus 1 prize – which will give them a life-changing million-euro windfall.

While there was no winner of the overall prize – totalling over €7million – Ireland's newest millionaire is unlikely to care.

The winning numbers were 17, 20, 29, 33, 37 and 42, and the bonus number was 16.

There was no winner of the Lotto Plus 2 prize, which comes to €250,000, while 76 players took home a cool €500 each in the Lotto Plus Raffle.

Details surrounding the whereabouts of the winning ticket are expected to emerge in the coming days.

Tonight's win isn't the first major cash prize doled out this week – just last night the National Lottery announced that a lucky player in Cork had claimed a €500,000 jackpot.

The plucky Rebel claimed the Euromillions Plus prize.

And last week saw a Kerry player claim €1million in the National Lottery – scooping the massive jackpot with the winning numbers of 05, 07, 09, 16, 34 and 37, with the bonus number of 21.
