Lucky lads enjoy a few pints in creative bar hidden away in old Irish fire truck

A video has emerged showing some revellers sucking on pints in a bar hidden away inside a fire truck.

The video, which has been widely circulated on WhatsApp, shows a few lads drinking away having a great time in the homemade bar that's well hidden inside the cargo area of the truck which has an Irish reg.

The whole thing is a covid-compliant operation and the truck's existence is far from a secret - although it is now out of action due to Level 5.

CorkBeo can confirm that the impressive 'Vintage Brigade Bar' is run by Ben Conroy who's based in Co Laois and at so far just a few family members and friends have seen the inside.

Speaking to CorkBeo Ben explained the mobile bar only started getting run-outs in recently and it had three days out with friends before Level 5 kicked in.

He said: "We only started in December, I'm abiding by the rules and only lent it out to friends of mine. I've not hired it out.

"It's been out three times and that's just been to those who are close to me. I'm thinking about something in future but it's closed for now with Level 5.

"I love the interior, I really like the timber affect. Something raw and pure."

Speaking about the viral video Ben said it was only a few lads watching Limerick's All-Ireland win, and that there was "no malice attached" to it.

"I saw the video and spoke to my friends about it, there was no malice attached to it, it was six people sitting down watching the All-Ireland.

"There's only six lads there and they're just having a couple of drinks. We had sanitiser there and all the works, all rules were abided by.

"Since then I've got a few calls but I haven't thought about letting it take off like that. At the moment it's just for our own use. I sit down with my sons or brothers for a drink and it's nice to have there.

"But with new rules now even if they ask me to bring it down to the house I won't be.

"I'm certainly thinking about making it a business down the line but I do want to make it clear that I'm not someone who'll be taking any chances with covid.

"It'll be abiding by all the rules and if someone had a problem with that then I wouldn't be letting it out."
