Ruby Walsh brought the curtain down on his career with a sensational win on Kemboy as he landed almost €180K in prize money yesterday - but the win also helped send one lucky punter to seventh heaven with a handsome €84K payday.
A Kildare native placed an ambitious accumulator on the seven races on the second day of the Punchestown Festival as €2.50 became a life-changing sum for the punter.
Musical Slave (7/1), Zero Ten (13/8), Elimay (5/1) and Minella Indo (5/1) all obliged in the opening races before Walsh's momentous win meant that just two races remained.
And when 1/2 selection Colreevy and 13/8 shot Gypsy Island won the 6.40 and 7.45 - one Kildare household became a lot richer.

The bet returned an initial €36,373.62 but an incredible €48,277.71 was added thanks to BoyleSports’ best odds guarantee that ensured the punter benefitted from their horses winning at bigger prices than when they were picked out.
An eye-watering total of €84,651.33 was transferred into the account shortly after racing was wrapped up.
