One incredibly lucky Dublin native will be counting their lucky stars for a long time to come after becoming the latest Irish punter to revel in a large Lotto windfall thanks to their numbers.
Armed with just €2, the punter visited a BoyleSports shop in the capital on Wednesday and placed it on four random numbers to be drawn during the main Irish Lotto draw later that evening.
They faced tiny odds of just 7,500/1 on all four numbers being revealed but those odds soon took a tumble.
Numbers 5, 13, 19 and 28 all dropped within the main six balls, meaning the punters ambitious bet had paid off in the best way possible.
It allowed them to return to the counter and hand over their €2 betslip in return for a generous total of €15,002.
Lawrence Lyons, spokesman for BoyleSports said: “It only took a small stake but congratulations to our Dublin punter who is now rolling in the cash. They were certainly dreaming big and we hope they enjoy the rewards.”
