A Dublin punter is thanking their lucky stars after they received a sweet Valentine’s Day boost by turning one coin into a five-figure sum.
The anonymous player placed a €1 bet at the Bingo in a BoyleSports shop in the capital on Friday evening picking numbers 4, 14, 17, 19, 22 and 27 to be six of the 49 numbers drawn.
A prize of up to €100,000 was available if the selections were the first six numbers called.
That wasn't the case but as good fortune had it, the next six numbers out were exactly what he had picked.
The magic winner was able to go back up to the counter and swap their ticket for an astounding €10,000.
BoyleSports spokesman Lawrence Lyons said: “There’s not many better gifts to receive on Valentine’s day than a €10,000 payout from a €1 punt."
