A driver escaped without serious injuries after a car overturned and landed on its roof.
The crash happened at the roundabout close to the Durham County Council offices at around 7.49pm on Saturday.
A police officer who was passing through the area spotted the overturned vehicle.
Emergency services attended the scene and rushed to the driver's aid.
Police have confirmed that the collision involved one vehicle and one person suffered minor injuries.
Emergency services removed the vehicle and the road was reopened a short time later.
A lamp post was also knocked over as a result of the collision.
