A dusting of snow has fallen at the Barrington Tops overnight creating perfect conditions for weekend snow chasers and Tasmanian devils alike.

Snow was seen at the Tops on the weekend and further fell on Monday morning, when Kathleen Cowcher from Moonan Cottage estimated the snow was still about five centimetres deep.

She drove the 20 minute trip from Moonan Brook to take a look at the mountain and was "pleasantly surprised" to see snow after constant rain on Sunday evening.

"I assumed that would have washed the snow away," she said.

The animals at Devil Ark were also loving the cold snap.

Supervisor Kelly Davis said the snow came after several days of low temperatures, making the devils feel right at home.

"They really like it, it's been just like Tasmania for them," she said.

There are currently 200 devils at the Aussie Ark animal conservation facility.
