Top Gear fans have started an internet campaign to make Richard Hammond the new time lord, reports the Daily Star, and bookies Ladbrokes have even made the presenter fifth favourite to take over when David Tennant leaves. Hammond might not be a too far fetched choice - he is adept at escaping close calls having cheated death during his Top Gear crash.
