LUCKNOW: The entrance test for admission in undergraduate professional and non-professional courses of Lucknow University is likely to be held by mid-July.
The admission windows for undergraduate courses will close on Tuesday.
The entrance test for various courses is likely to be held for around a week during which test of one or two UG courses can be held in a single day. The UG courses will be of four years as per the New Education Policy adopted by LU last year.
LU will conduct Undergraduate Entrance Test (UGET) for admission to BA, BSc, BCom and other non-professional courses, while for professional courses like BBA, BBA(IB), BBA(MS), BBA(Tourism) and BCA, students shall be admitted as per marks obtained in the Undergraduate Professional Entrance Test (UGPET) 2022.
“Last year, the admission was delayed by around two months due to pandemic, so this year admission team is putting in extra efforts to complete UG admissions by July so that the session 2022-23 can start timely,” said an official. He said entrance tests of professional and non-professional courses will be conducted simultaneously and since the entrance test is multiple choice-based, evaluation of copies won’t take much time.
“The entrance test will have 100 questions. Each question will be of two marks and there will be no negative marking,” said LU spokesperson Durgesh Srivastava.
The entrance of BA will include questions from Hindi, English, geography, history, civics, psychology, and economics (10+2 level). BCom and BCom (H) entrance will be of mental ability, commerce, accounting, commercial Maths, economics, and computer, in BSc (Maths) questions will be of physics, chemistry, mathematics, mental aptitude, and computer applications.
