Lucknow University UG entrance exams end, 25% aspirants skip BCom test

LUCKNOW: With one-fourth students (25%) skipping the test for bachelor of commerce (BCom), Lucknow University’s entrance examinations concluded on Tuesday. Out of 11,939 candidates who registered for BCom exam held in the evening shift, 3,070 remained absent. In the morning shift, 500 students took the test for bachelor of fine arts, while 184 did not turn up.

In fact, the turnout in most courses remained low with an average of 20% students skipping the test, despite LU receiving record number of applications for its UG courses.

From Wednesday, LU will begin admissions to part-time PhD programme for 25 subjects. For the admissions that will continue till September 4, candidates will have to give a research plan write up of around 1000 words followed by a document verification and interview.

While the write up will carry 70 marks, there will a weightage of 10 marks each for work experience and academic index. Candidates will be interviewed on the remaining 10 marks.
