LUCKNOW: The father of the BA-III student of Lucknow University who was arrested for posting pornographic content twice on the WhatsApp study group of ancient Indian history department has claimed that his son suffers from some psychiatric issues.
Aditya Singh was suspended by the university and served a showcause notice. In reply, Singh’s father told the proctor office that his son has had psychiatric problems since childhood and requested LU officers to consider his “medical condition” before taking any decision for action.
The incident had first occurred on July17. LU students then lodged complaints with authorities. However, when no prompt action was taken, around 40% of the 170 students left the group in protest.
Later, LU authorities lodged an FIR. In the meantime, on July 22, Singh allegedly uploaded pornographic images again. He was tracked and arrested on July 25 and suspended from the university on July 26.
