LUCKNOW: Lucknow University has secured the 71st spot in the Nature Index Ranking. Under it, an institute is ranked on the basis of its research output every year.
Last year, LU had bagged 94th place, improving its rank by 23 points. LU was the only state university to get a place in the prestigious ranking.
“Despite the pandemic, the university has improved its ranking by producing high-impact factor research papers published in the reputed international journal,” said LU spokesperson Durgesh Srivastava.
He said that to motivate and promote good research work, LU had come up with various schemes for felicitating students and teachers.
“The ranking has been awarded based on the research papers produced by the university between December 1, 2020, and November 1, 2021, a time when the pandemic had hit academics badly but we improved our rank,” he added.
Srivastava said that in the past two years, LU had figured in the National Institutional Ranking Framework and a number of international rankings.
