LUCKNOW: A team from Lucknow University distributed sanitary napkin vending machines and sanitary pad incinerators among four intermediate girls' colleges in Maal. The step was a part of its five-day women's health awareness campaign which culminated on Menstrual Hygiene Day on Saturday.
A team of LU faculty along with vice-chancellor Prof Alok Kumar Rai visited these colleges and made around 300 students aware of menstrual hygiene. A discussion with students on questions related to menstruation and a street play titled 'Chuppi Todo' were organised.
Prof Rai announced LU will organize health and diet counselling camps at these colleges. LU will also engage more than 1,500 students in 41 inter colleges of rural areas on menstruation and other subjects.
