LUCKNOW: The narrow lanes of Musahibganj in Thakurganj, which used to be abuzz with activity, wore a deserted look on Thursday with residents keeping their kids indoors, even as LMC caught 48 dogs from the area and has kept two suspected to be involved in the gruesome fatal attack a day earlier, under close observation.
On Wednesday, five-year-old Raza was killed by stray dogs who also injured his three-year-old sister Jannat critically and she is battling for life at KGMU.
KGMU Trauma Centre chief medical superintendent Prof Sandeep Tiwari said, “The girl has multiple dog bites around her waist and hands. The bite on the face is not deep. She is stable at present, but the next 24 hours are crucial.” Doctors said that even after recovery, the girl may have post-traumatic stress disorder and would need proper care. The siblings’ father Mohammad Shabab is still in shock. “My wife Rani had gone to Mumbai with my eldest daughter for some work. I had promised Rani that I will take good care of the three kids at home while she is away. I don’t know how to face her,” said Shabab, a plumber, who works at a small shop in Thakurganj.
