LUCKNOW: On "Azaadi ka amrit mahotsav", Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) of Lucknow Zone disposed of 15,230 kg of drugs worth Rs 15 crore on Saturday.
NCB Lucknow Zonal Director, Prashant Srivastava, said that on the directions of MHA, NCB has undertaken an all India mission to dispose of 1 lakh kg drugs in a period of 75 days, culminating on August 15, which is being done commemorating 75 years of independence.
Srivastava said that complementing this special drive of disposal of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, NCB Lucknow Zonal unit destroyed a total quantity of 15,230kg, having a market value of around 15 crore.
"The entire destruction activity was done on the orders of the NDPS court and was carried out in Mohanlalganj, Lucknow by the trained staff of SMS Water Grace Management," said Srivastava.
