LUCKNOW: National PG College failed to retain its 'A' grade and was awarded B++ by the National Assessment Accreditation Council (NAAC) on Tuesday.
While there were celebrations on the LU campus, the NPGC campus was soaked in disappointment.
Unsatisfied with the grade awarded, NPGC has decided to file an appeal for re-assessment before the council.
National PG College principal Devendra Kumar Singh said, "NPGC has been awarded a CGPA of 2.86, a number of our documents were not considered during data verification which is why despite meeting required norms we couldn't score."
He said that the NAAC team during the campus inspection had appreciated our work.
"We have scored lowest in research, innovation and extension. Since we are a college not much scope is there for research and secondly, we have scored low on student support and progression. We will again check our uploaded data and appeal for re-assessment," he said.
"We are unsatisfied with the third-party data validation and verification, be it our data uploaded related to teaching resources, bandwidth, or others," said NPGC NAAC coordinator Prof Rakesh Jain.
