LUCKNOW: A local court on Monday granted 14 day police custody remand to two terror accused Minaz and Masiruddin arrested by Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorist Squad (UPATS).
The Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) of Uttar Pradesh police, on Sunday, had claimed to have busted a module of Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind-seen as an auxiliary unit of Al-Qaeda- and arrested Minaz Ahmad and his associate Masiruddin.

The ATS sleuths have also claimed to have recovered an improvised explosive device (IED) in the form of a pressure cooker bomb along with a 9mm country made pistol from the house of accused Minaz.
Inspector General of police, ATS, GK Goswamy said that during remand questions about their association with Umar Halmandi, a listed Al-Qaeda operative based somewhere along the Pakistan/ Afghanistan border would be sought and they would be asked how they got in touch with him. The ATS will also ask them about the places where they were planning blasts in the state.
