LUCKNOW: Students of Isabella Thoburn College had an enjoyable experience of mural painting amid soaring temperatures on the college campus during a three-day wall art festival as a part of Bonjour India 2022 organized by the French Embassy.
Splashing colours on the walls, IT College students joyfully learnt the art of mural painting from renowned French artist Lili Totas. The students, with brush strokes, gave a makeover to their canteen. Teachers and principal Vinita Prakash also tried their hands on the creative affair.
Over 50 girl students together painted 995 sq ft of the area during the three-day festival that culminated on Saturday.
“It was a therapeutic event after the stressful days of examinations and pandemic,” said BSc students Ishika Seth and Pragya Mishra.
“Such events should be held in all academic institutes to fill students with energy and excitement,” said BA student Iqra Mariyam.
“With the aim to spread awareness and message of women empowerment, freedom and equality, Lili Totas drew inspiration from her previous painting which depicted a mother’s womb,” said the coordinator of IT College’s career counselling and placement cell Sonika Bhatia.
She said this painting signifies a safe place where girls are well prepared to lead the world.
IT College has a memorandum of understanding with Alliance Francaise de, Lucknow.
Totas, happy to be in Lucknow, said, “It was fun to work with young energetic students of IT College who helped me in painting my dream on the wall. My work is inspired by my three children.”
