Lucknow boys stay on in Delhi to help those being evacuated

LUCKNOW: MBBS students Shashank Mishra and Vipul Shukla, who had struggled to get back to India, have decided to stay in Delhi and help Indian students stuck in Ukraine and those landing in Delhi after being evacuated. Meanwhile, two others, Parul and Hardeep Singh, have chosen to stay back in Ukraine and help Indian students in evacuation.

“We might have landed in India but will continue to help till everyone returns safely,” said Shashank and Vipul, who are from Lucknow.

“As we know the routes, people who can arrange a vehicle, and how to proceed towards the border, we will keep informing and updating every student about it through different social media platforms,” said Shashank, who has made a detailed video of how he, Vipul and other Indian students reached the border and returned safely. Videos of the journey on Shashank’s YouTube channel are flooded with queries of students.

“Be it helping with money or arranging for anything, we will do everything possible from here. We are updating everything on social media platforms so that those stuck can get help,” said Vipul.

Despite being tired, the duo has decided not to return to Lucknow.

“Our friends are on the way and those stuck in Kharkiv and Kyiv need us the most,” he said.

Like them, student coordinator Puja from Bhubaneswar is helping students by staying back in Ukraine.

“I have a responsibility and will not leave Ukraine until all students are evacuated safely. My parents raised me a strong girl. I will return after accomplishing this mission.” Similarly, Hardeep Singh in Ukraine is helping Indian students find out all about available trains to reach the border for safe routes.
