Lucknow: 5 youths ride into police station after stunts on bikes

LUCKNOW: Taking cognizance of complaints on social media and a few by locals, Hazratganj police nabbed five people who used to perform stunts in morning hours. These miscreants used to create nuisance for the morning walkers as well as other commuters.

Those arrested are Salman, 19, Faizan, 19, Mohammad Sadiq, 20, Mohammad Taufeek, 21, and Mohammad Naseem Khan, 54.

Police on Monday scanned the CCTV footage of the Hazratganj area, including Lohia Path and identified around 12 two-wheelers which were seen cruising on the roads. These miscreants were daily creating nuisance around Hazratganj and Gomtinagar areas. On Sunday, police received a complaint on social media in which the complainant recorded a video and tagged the police .

Miscreants were spotted in the Hazratganj area around 6:13 am With the help of Integrated Traffic Management System (ITMS) and CCTVs in the area, police took the photos of the registration plates of the vehicles along with the riders.

SHO Hazratganj, Shyam Babu Shukla, told TOI that three teams were pushed into action and five miscreants were arrested hile 12 two-wheelers, including three sports bikes worth lakhs, have also been seized.

“We have arrested all the accused under the charges of rash driving, negligent conduct with respect to machinery and punishment for public nuisance. However, they were released after they signed a bail bond as per the rules,” said Shukla.
