Lucid Gravity Touring: A (Slightly) More Affordable EV Powerhouse With 337 Miles Of Range

  • The 2026 Lucid Gravity Touring trim is now available in the United States.
  • This version of the electric SUV is nearly 16% more affordable than the Grand Touring spec.
  • For $15,000 less, the Touring has a smaller battery, slower charging and less power.

A cheaper version of the Lucid Gravity electric SUV is finally available in the United States. The Gravity Touring starts from $79,900, which is $15,000 less than the Gravity Grand Touring that went on sale first. 

That’s great news for everyone who is looking for a spacious and comfortable electric family SUV, but can’t afford to spend $100,000 on a new car. However, to lower the price tag, Lucid had to tone down some stats and remove some features, which is to be expected.

The 2026 Lucid Gravity Touring has a dual-motor, all-wheel drive setup just like its more expensive brother. It also gets air suspension with adjustable ride height, impressive charging figures and a Tesla-style NACS charge port.

There’s an 89-kilowatt-hour battery pack under the floor, which is rated at over 700 volts and can be recharged at up to 300 kilowatts from a powerful enough DC fast charger. On 500-volt charging stations, the maximum charging power goes down to 225 kW.

By comparison, the Gravity Grand Touring is powered by a 123 kWh battery rated at 926V that can take in up to 400 kW from a 1,000V DC fast charger. That said, the charging power on 500V stalls is the same as the Touring version, 225 kW.

The smaller-capacity battery inevitably leads to a shorter driving range, with the 2026 Lucid Gravity Touring flaunting a maximum EPA-rated driving distance of 337 miles when riding on the standard 21/22-inch wheels. Larger wheels will reduce that number to 301 miles. It’s worth noting that these range figures are identical for both the five-seater and seven-seater versions of the Gravity Touring.

For comparison’s sake, the Grand Touring variant tops out at a very impressive 450 miles, though that number drops to 386 miles for the seven-seater version with 22/23-inch wheels.

The top-spec Gravity’s power output is also a conversation starter, with a whopping 828 horsepower and 909 pound-feet of torque on tap, allowing the 6,000-pound SUV to sprint from a standstill to 60 miles per hour in just 3.4 seconds.

On the Gravity Touring, these figures drop to 560 hp and 811 lb-ft, while the 60 mph sprint is done in 4 seconds flat. While the drop in power is noticeable, it doesn’t really translate into a much slower car, and that’s most likely due to the weight reduction, with the Touring being roughly 230 pounds lighter than the Grand Touring.

Air springs with adaptive dampers are standard, as are the 20-inch front wheels and 21-inch rear wheels. Customers will have to pay extra to get switchable spring rates with three settings that are linked to the drive modes. Active rear steering and larger wheels that go up to 23 inches in diameter also cost extra.

All this being said, the basics are still there. The brakes are the same, with 15.4-inch rotors squeezed by 6-piston calipers at the front and 15.3-inch rotors backed by 4-piston calipers at the rear. The welcoming interior is just as big and comfortable on the Touring as it is on the Grand Touring, and the low-lip 8.1 cubic feet front trunk hasn't disappeared anywhere. Likewise, the cargo capacity is identical, with 111.9 cu ft of volume behind the second row and 106.2 cu ft behind the third row.

There’s no word on whether an even cheaper version of the Lucid Gravity will become a reality, as it is in the case of the Lucid Air Pure, so for now, this is the cheapest SUV in the American startup’s portfolio.
