Liverpool Wavertree MP Luciana Berger has no intention of joining the Liberal Democrat party - despite news stories suggesting she would.
Yesterday, some media reports suggested the former Labour MP was planning to follow her former colleague Chuka Umunna in joining the Lib Dems.
Some news websites suggested Ms Berger - who is currently on maternity leave - would be leaving Liverpool to run as a Liberal Democrat candidate in the Golders Green seat in London.
But today, Ms Berger's office categorically denied that she would be joining the Liberal Democrats.

A spokesman told the ECHO he had spoken to the Wavertree MP this morning and said she had 'no intention' of joining the Liberal Democrats.
He said she would be focusing on constituency issues when returning from maternity leave - having given birth to her second child, Zion, in March.
Ms Berger was one of a number of Labour MPs to quit Labour in February . The Jewish MP said she believed the party had become 'institutionally antisemitic'.
The quitting Labour MPs were then joined by three Tories and went on to form a new party, initially called Change UK.
But after a disappointing European Parliamentary elections performance - the party split, with six MPs - including Ms Berger - leaving.

The party was then forced to change its name after a dispute with petitions website Change.org.
The party has written to the elections watchdog asking to be renamed The Independent Group for Change.
Earlier this month Mr Umunna - the MP for Streatham - announced he would be joining the Liberal Democrats and has been made the party's treasury and business spokesman.
