Lucas Torreira could hold the key to Arsenal's summer transfer business.
The midfielder is one of few players in the Gunners squad who could demand a fee if sold before deadline day and raising funds is key to the club's plans to making more signings.
Latest reports claim he has become a target for Diego Simeone at Atletico Madrid.
According to Sport 890 - a publication in Uruguay - the Argentine tactician has even contacted Torreira.
In addition, journalist Sebas Giovanelli hints that Torreira could be tempted by a move to Atletico and that's despite looking set for a return to Italy amid links to Torino and Fiorentina.
Whilst a number of Arsenal supporters are getting excited about the prospect of the 24-year-old being involved in a swap deal that would see Thomas Partey arrive at the Emirates Stadium, Torreira has managed to remain tight-lipped amid all the rumours.
Although, he has taken to social media just as talk about his future was heating up.
Posting an image of him in a Arsenal training session to his Instagram Stories as well as reacting to being called up to the Uruguay national team, it's clear that he just wants to focus on his football.
Torreira has recently hinted at leaving the club this summer.
"Today I need to think about my future very well," he told Sport890 at the beginning of August. "I have a contract with the club and I have to respect it, obviously if I have to leave it will be for the best.
"We have to be calm and wait."
Interestingly, another club appears to have entered the race for Torreira.
Gianluca Di Marzio reports AC Milan have now joined the hunt and that could spark a bidding war that would suit the Gunners.
The report claims that Milan have lodged an enquiry for Torreira.
