Lucas Torreira may have fuelled speculation over a return to Serie A.
The Arsenal midfielder arrived at the Emirates Stadium in the summer of 2018 and has impressed supporters with his tenacious displays in the middle of the park.
However, according to his agent, he is keen to leave the club this summer and return to Italy.
"Lucas had been in a bit of a bad mood over some technical differences, then he recovered," Pablo Bentancur told TMW.
"And the injury arrived, fortunately, less serious than expected. Today he is completely recovered, I believe he will be a market man.
“I will have to speak to Arsenal. The player would love to return to Italy, but it must be acknowledged that Arsenal treated him very well and behaved great."
Shortly after this transfer statement, Torreira took to social media and uploaded a video to his Instagram account which may confirm what his agent has said.
The clip is of him in action for former club Sampdoria.
And the caption in translation reads: "Great memories. Forever in mine @sampdoria.
Away from transfer speculation and Torreira is making good progress on the fractured ankle he suffered in March, during the Gunners' 2-0 FA Cup triumph over Portsmouth at Fratton Park.
The Uruguay international was originally sidelined for between eight to 10 weeks, however the suspension of the season because of the COVID-19 crisis has allowed the midfielder to only miss one match.
He could return for Arsenal if the Premier League season resumes next month, after the club issued an encouraging update on his recovery.
The Gunners released a video of the midfielder back on the grass and running.
But is his time at the Emirates Stadium coming to an end?
