Lucas Torreira injury: Arsenal midfielder stretchered off at Portsmouth

Lucas Torreira was stretchered off after suffering an ankle injury during Arsenal's FA Cup tie at Portsmouth on Monday night.

The midfielder has found himself out of the starting XI of late, but was one of nine changes made by boss Mikel Arteta for tonight's game.

Torreira lasted just 15 minutes, however, Portsmouth defender James Bolton taking player and ball in a challenge that was hefty but deemed fair by referee Mike Dean.

Arsenal's physio team were immediately on the scene, providing the 24-year-old with oxygen and taking him off on a stretcher.

BT Sport have confirmed that Torreira will not be taken to hospital.

As reported by the Standard's James Olley, Portsmouth fans were heard jeering the Spaniard as he departed.
