Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira has said that he is thinking about his future amid talk that he could be on his way out of the Emirates Stadium this summer.
The 24-year-old was mainly used as a substitute in the final nine Premier League games of the season after the return of fixtures, and was an unused substitute in the FA Cup final win over Chelsea in the final game of the 2019/20 campaign.
Torreira is one of the players who is said to be available for a transfer this summer, with AC Milan said to be interested in the midfielder.
The Telegraph claim that the Italian giants are the frontrunners for the transfer, with Arsenal looking to get back at least the £26 million that they paid for Torreira back in 2018.
The player himself has now given an update on his future amid the speculation over where he may be playing football next season.
“Today I need to think about my future very well,” he told Sport890 .
“I have a contract with the club and I have to respect it, obviously if I have to leave it will be for the best.
“We have to be calm and wait."
Should Arsenal be able to sell Torreira for the price that they are looking for, then that could serve as a big boost to the Gunners’ hopes of landing Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey this summer.
Madrid are standing firm that they will only sell the player if his release clause of £45 million is met.
