Lucas Moura's agent speaks out on Tottenham star's next transfer move ahead of summer exit

Lucas Moura only has six games remaining before his stay at Tottenham officially comes to an end. Joining from Paris Saint-Germain in January 2018, it was confirmed at the start of the year that the attacker would depart Tottenham Hotspur Stadium at the end of the campaign after the club decided against activating the option to extend his contract by a further year.

It means Lucas will now leave as a free agent and he will possibly have a number of clubs to choose from. Although Tottenham currently have eight games remaining before their 2022/23 season draws to a close, Lucas' red card in last week's draw at Everton means that he will not be available for the next two matches after already serving one game of his three-match ban.

The player will be intent on helping Tottenham achieve a Champions League finish before he parts ways with the club, although it's unclear how much football he will play in the remaining weeks of the season with a number of players currently ahead of him in the pecking order. Once his contract officially ends, Lucas will decide which club is the best option for him going forward.

Always expected to depart Tottenham to return to his home country of Brazil, the 30-year-old has been heavily tipped to link up with former club Sao Paulo once again. However, a move to his hometown club may have to wait for now if comments from his agent are anything to go by.

Speaking to Brazilian journalist Jorge Nicola, Junior Pedroso, Lucas' agent, has indicated that a deal with another European club could potentially come to fruition. “There is no movement in that direction. We are studying proposals in Europe to choose the best path for Lucas," he said on talk of a move to Brazil, as reported by Sport Witness.

Whether he returns home to Sao Paulo this summer or not, it seems inevitable that Lucas will one day pull on his first club's shirt once again. The 30-year-old, who has had his season disrupted by injury, has made 16 appearances in all competitions for the Lilywhites in 2022/23.
