Lucas Moura identifies the most important thing Spurs must do before the end of the season

With the opening of Tottenham's new stadium against Crystal Palace next week it's easy to be swept away and forget the magnitude of what is coming.

Spurs are approaching the home stretch of securing their place in the top four and have a massive two legs against Manchester City in the Champions League quarter-finals to contend with.

Moura reckons that his team need to believe their own hype and play with confident to recover from the defeat to Southampton before the international break.

He told the official Tottenham website: “I believe in this team.. We are still third in the Premier League. We’ve been up there all season and there are a lot of teams who can challenge for the top four, but we are there. We are also in the quarter-finals of the Champions League. We have to believe.

Liverpool forward on the tactical tweak Tottenham may have to watch out for and hectic schedule

The 26-year-old is playing in his first full season in north London and Moura made an impact in the early stages but has seen less pitch time since returning from a knee injury at the end of January.

The former PSG star is content with how he feels at the moment and happy with the squad he is part of.

He said: “I’m very happy. It’s my first (full) season in the Premier League and for me, it’s the most difficult championship in the world.

“I’ve played a lot of games, I’ve scored a few important goals for the team and the most important thing is to be ready to help because we have a very good squad and everyone can play, everyone can do a good job.

Man City and Pep Guardiola receive quadruple injury boost ahead of Tottenham triple header

“It’s a long season, many games and the intensity is so high here but I feel very good physically and mentally. I’m happy with my Club, my team-mates and as I’ve always said, I believe in this team.”

The £25 million just wants to kick on for the rest of the season so the team can achieve what they know they can.

Moura said: "For me, this is a moment to enjoy and to prepare well because we have big, big games on the way and we need to be ready.

"The most important thing for us is to be in the top four and to qualify for the Champions League again. We have the quality to do this."
