The Orioles loaded the bases in the sixth. Giolito struck out Anthony Santander and got Maikel Franco to pop out to catcher Zack Collins for the final out.
Tim Anderson singled to begin the seventh against Orioles reliever Dillon Tate and stole second. Tate attempted to pick off Anderson and made a throwing error, advancing Anderson to third.
Madrigal drove him home with a triple to right, giving the Sox a 2-1 lead. Moncada followed with an RBI single to center.
Garrett Crochet pitched a perfect eighth and Liam Hendriks retired the side in order in the ninth for his 13th save.
