CHICAGO _ White Sox relievers Aaron Bummer and Alex Colome have been reliable throughout the season.
The Angels got to both Friday night, rallying to defeat the Sox, 5-4, in front of 20,026 at Guaranteed Rate Field.
Brian Goodwin hit a two-run homer off Bummer with two outs in the eighth to tie the score 4-4. Justin Upton led off the ninth with a solo homer off of Colome.
The Angels' rally cost Lucas Giolito his 15th win. The White Sox ace allowed three hits and two runs in seven innings.
Tim Anderson had two hits, including a two-run homer in the fifth. Anderson entered Friday leading the American League with a .332 batting average.
Anderson singled in the first and scored on Jose Abreu's double. Eloy Jimenez's RBI groundout put the Sox up 2-0.
Anderson extended the lead to 4-1 with his two-run homer in the fifth. It was his 16th homer of the season.
Angels star Mike Trout left the game in the fifth inning with right toe discomfort. The Angels listed Trout as day to day. He was replaced by Goodwin, whose homer off of Bummer was his 16th of the season.
Upton's homer in the ninth was his 12th.
The Sox were without outfielder Leury Garcia. He returned to his native Santiago, Dominican Republic, following the death of his grandmother and will be out the entire series.
Sox manager Rick Renteria also will miss the series. He underwent surgery Friday to repair the rotator cuff in his right shoulder. Bench coach Joe McEwing is filling in.
