Lucas Digne shows off Everton war wound after win over Leeds United

Lucas Digne has posted a light-hearted picture of him receiving stitches following Everton's 2-1 win over Leeds United on Wednesday.

The defender played the full 90 minutes as the Blues secured an important three points at Elland Road thanks to strikes from Gylfi Sigurdsson and Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the first half.

A goal from Raphinha just after the break set up a nervy finish for Carlo Ancelotti's side, but they were able to resist the pressure from the hosts to pick up an important win.

And, following the game, Digne took to social media to show off a particular war wound.

The France international posted an image to his Instagram story of him receiving stitches on what appears to be a cut on his leg.

The caption along with the post light-heartedly reads: "No pain, no gain."

The left-back picked up his sixth assist of the season by setting up Sigurdsson to open the scoring on Wednesday evening.

That means Digne has more Premier League assists than any other defender this term, despite missing a chunk of matches with an ankle injury.

Everton will hope the left-back's cut is not serious enough to rule him out of this weekend's trip to face Manchester United on Saturday.
