Lucas Digne has shared a simple message to Everton supporters as the conversation around a potential "Super League" continues.
The football world was rocked late on Sunday evening as 12 clubs from across the continent released a statement sharing their intention to create a new competition.
Manchester United, Man City, Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool were joined by three La Liga sides and three Serie A clubs to announce themselves as founder members of a planned "Super League".
The plans have been widely condemned over the last 48 hours with fans, clubs, pundits and governing bodies all taking aim at the proposals.
Some players have also shared messages to their social media accounts seemingly in response to the conversation, and Digne has become the latest Everton star to do so.
The left-back took to Twitter and simply wrote: "Football is nothing without fans."
The defenders comments come on the same day Everton issued a damning statement slating the Premier League clubs involved in the proposals.
Denise Barrett-Baxendale emailed supporters with similarly strong comments alongside that, with Farhad Moshiri later appearing on talkSPORT to claim that all six sides involved from England's top division should be deducted points.
Later on Tuesday, the remaining 14 Premier League clubs held a meeting regarding the plans and "unanimously and vigorously" rejected them.
