Lucas Digne injury latest as Everton boss Rafa Benitez gives update

Rafa Benitez is hopeful Lucas Digne will be fit for Everton's game with Norwich City this weekend.

The French left-back, who captained the Blues against Queens Park Rangers on Tuesday night, was brought off after 80 minutes and was replaced by Michael Keane.

Digne was being troubled by an ankle complaint and his substitution immediately raised concerns about Saturday's game at Goodison with Norwich.

Benitez, however, was hopeful when asked about his fitness following the Carabao Cup defeat.

"It is not does not look very serious," he said. "But we will check tomorrow."

Everton have no natural left-back cover for Digne.

Ben Godfrey, who spent the final stages of the game in that position, is the only defender with experience of deputising for the France international.

The Blues' medical staff will, however, perform tests on Digne's ankle at Finch Farm on Wednesday to learn to full extent of the problem.
