Lucan Leisure Centre gym forced to close due to ex Hurricane Lorenzo weather leaving Dublin members in limbo

A popular Dublin leisure centre has been forced to close its gym area following recent severe weather conditions leaving its members in limbo.

Lucan Leisure Centre have had "no option" other than to close the gym part of their establishment since Sunday due to "heavy rain fall and ongoing leaking issues" that they have experienced.

They took to their Facebook page to announce the news and apologised to members for any inconvenience caused.

But, it's not all bad news for customers. They have been advised that they are able to use Clondalkin Leisure Centre or Tallaght Leisure Centre to get their work out in.

The gym was due to reopen on Monday but they told members that "due to circumstances beyond our control we have been forced to close the gym area until further notice".

They added: "We apologise for this inconvenience and will update our operational status when we can make further assessment."

On Tuesday, the company announced that the gym would remain closed for the day but that classes will still go ahead as normal in the Sports Hall.

The Leisure Centre is located at Griffeen Valley Park and is open from 9am to 9pm.
