Luas green line 'technical issue' causes chaos for Dublin commuters

An electrical fault has led to the partial closure of the Luas green line in Dublin, with limited service on the open route.

The fault is near the Cabra stop and there are no trams operating between Broombridge and Dominick.

As a result of the fault, a number of trams have not entered service so there are limited trams running between Parnell and Brides Glen, Dublin Live reports.

Luas operators have said tickets are valid on Dublin Bus during the disruption, with a bus service operating between Broombridge and Dominick.

They said: "Please be advised due to an electrical fault near the Cabra Luas stop there are currently no trams operating between Broombridge and Dominick.

"Trams are only operating between Brides Glen and Parnell. Finnegans coaches are servicing all Luas stops between Broombridge and Dominick.

"Luas tickets are also valid on Dublin Bus for the duration of the service disruption.

"As a result of this fault we are operating a limited service on the Green Line this morning.

"This is due to the fact that we have a number of trams in the Broombridge Depot that we have been unable to introduce into service.

"We apologise for the inconvenience caused."
