LT Cam Robinson coming off PUP list per Doug Marrone

On Saturday, Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Doug Marrone announced that he wasn’t sure if left tackle Cam Robinson would be ready to go for Week 1 of the regular season, but it appears the third-year player’s status may have made a change for the best. Prior to Monday’s practice session, Marrone hit the media with a surprise by announcing that Robinson would be abruptly moved from the physically unable to perform list and that he would also participate in Monday’s session on a limited basis.

As most are aware, Robinson injured his knee during the Jags’ Week 2 game against the New England Patriots in the process of engaging with a defender. The following day, it was announced that the young left tackle tore his ACL and he was place on injured reserve as a result.

Only the staff knows the reasoning behind Robinson’s abrupt change in status, but having him back could be huge for the starting offense as he’s an upgrade over options like Josh Wells, Cedric Ogbuehi and Leonard Wester. And while it’s almost a certainty that they won’t play him in Thursday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles, it looks like he might be pushing to see the field Week 3 of the preseason, which is the week in which most teams treat as a dress rehearsal.
