LSU Tigers star LB Devin White drafted by Bucs, Saints’ rivals

The New Orleans Saints will face yet another star player from their own backyard: the Tampa Bay Buccaneers picked former LSU Tigers linebacker Devin White with the fifth pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. Tampa Bay naturally sits across from New Orleans in the NFC South, putting White up against the black and gold twice a year for the foreseeable future.

White should make his debut against the Saints first on October 6, during Week 5 of the regular season. The game will be played in New Orleans at noon CT, and will be broadcast on FOX. A few weeks later, the Saints will visit White in Tampa Bay on November 17, during Week 11. That game will also kick off at noon, barring weather delays like happened last year.

He was a terror for the Tigers in Death Valley, registering 286 tackles (114 solo, 28.5 for loss of yards) during his three-year career. It’ll be interesting to see how he factors into Saints head coach Sean Payton’s meticulous game plans.
