LSU quarterback Joe Burrow speaks out on Ohio State losing to Clemson

By now you know former Ohio State and current LSU quarterback Joe Burrow lit the SEC on fire this season. The kid has developed into one of the greatest passers college football has ever seen and now has a freakin’ Heisman Trophy he can lug around with him.

We were all hoping for the college football stars to align and have the dream matchup of Burrow’s LSU squad facing Ohio State in the national title game in New Orleans, but the Buckeyes got their hopes dashed in dramatic and somewhat controversial fashion.

Burrow met with the media this week in the lead up to the big one in the Big Easy and was asked about his feelings when he saw that his former Ohio State team had been knocked out by Clemson in the Fiesta Bowl. He was first asked if he was wishing for a chance to play OSU.

“You know, it would have been fun to play a lot of my old teammates and my old friends,” said Burrow. “There would have been some trash talk and some friendly trash talk and it would have been a lot of fun, but we’ll play whoever. We’re excited to get the opportunity to play.”

He was then asked if he watched the game and what it was like seeing his former teammates.

I did watch the game, yeah,” Burrow said. “It was a fun game to watch. Everyone was battling their tails off, and I know a lot of those guys worked so hard to get to that moment, and being with them for three years, it was kind of sad a little bit to see their season end like that. But I know they worked really hard to get there, and we’re excited to get the opportunity to play in this game.”

Something tells me the Ohio State players and fans would have enjoyed doing battle against you as well Joe. Good luck in NOLA.
