LSU and Clemson players were hilariously oblivious to ’90s culture

If you’ve ever used a VCR, listened to TLC or messaged a friend on AIM, congratulations: You’re well-versed in acronyms that went right over the heads of LSU and Clemson players.

Also, you’re about to feel old.

Ahead of the College Football Playoff National Championship Game, ESPN caught up with LSU and Clemson players at media day and had them participate in a ’90s pop-culture quiz.

The producer would show a player a card with a photo or logo on the front and see if the player could identify the photo. They included photos like AOL, a VCR, Nas and Britney Spears. They … uh … did not pass this challenge.

The answers were actually shocking. Trevor Lawrence thought TLC were the Spice Girls. Britney Spears was mistook for Lady Gaga. Nobody knew what Seinfeld was.

Thanks for that, y’all. I’ve never felt older.
