LPG Shortage Begins to Affect Restaurants Across Indian Cities

Temporary Closure in Bengaluru

A recently opened restaurant in Bengaluru has announced a temporary shutdown due to the shortage of LPG. The restaurant’s founder, Kawaljeet Singh, shared the news on X, expressing disappointment over the situation.

“We have to remain closed temporarily due to gas shortage in Bengaluru. My heart is broken, but the spirits are alive,” he wrote in his post. He further added that the team hopes to return stronger once the supply situation improves.

Closure Shortly After Launch

The shutdown comes just days after the restaurant began operations on March 6. The establishment had introduced a family dining experience and offered multiple ordering options, including direct phone orders as well as online delivery through Zomato and Swiggy. However, the ongoing LPG shortage has made it difficult for the kitchen to function normally, forcing the team to temporarily halt services.

Reactions From Social Media Users

Following the announcement, several users on X shared their concerns and experiences related to the issue. Some restaurant operators said they are currently working with limited menus and expect to continue doing so for only a few more days if the shortage persists.

Others expressed worry about the broader implications for the food industry. One user described the situation as a “very bad scenario,” while another commented that they had never imagined such a disruption in fuel supply affecting restaurant operations.

Calls for Alternative Solutions

The situation has also sparked discussions about the need for backup solutions in the restaurant industry. Some users suggested that new entrepreneurs should consider alternative fuels or include cold dishes and menu options that do not require extensive cooking.

Such strategies, they argued, could help restaurants continue operating even during fuel supply disruptions.

Hope for a Quick Resolution

For now, the Bengaluru restaurant will remain closed until LPG supplies return to normal levels. The team remains optimistic and hopes to reopen once the gas supply stabilizes, allowing them to resume service and welcome customers again.
