Loyola’s Sister Jean calls for community during pandemic

Sister Jean Dolores Schmidt addressed Loyola and the community at large. | Tyler LaRiviere/Sun-Times

Loyola team chaplain Sister Jean Dolores Schmidt has called for the community to care for each other during the coronavirus pandemic.

“This is the strangest March Madness I’ve ever experienced,” 100-year-old Sister Jean said in a video posted on YouTube.

“What we’ve been asked to do by government officials, church officials, presidents, superintendents, directors and others in authority is not an easy thing to do,” she said. “But we must do it.”
