Loyal dog who refused to leave hospital without owner brought to see him in coffin

A loyal dog who had been searching for his missing owner was taken to grieve at his casket so he could finally process his loss.

The Aspin dog named Chuchu had been with owner Carlito Sembrano when he collapsed and was rushed to hospital in an ambulance.

Chuchu refused to go home when Carlito's family came to collect him and he stayed outside at the same spot in Tarlac City, the Philippines.

The dog even took to all the different places he and his master would usually go to in a bid to find his best friend.

Tragically, Carlito died a few days later from the heart attack but loyal Chuchu continued waiting in the street for his return in the town of Capas while his family took it in turns to give him food and water.

Neighbours eventually decided to take Chuchu to the family home where Carlito was laying in his casket last Tuesday September 10.

The heartbroken dog rested on his master's bike while looking sorrowfully at his best friend's body.

Neighbour Jessie Rodriguez said that Chuchu only went home after seeing his master's bike being used by one of their neighbours.

He said: "One time, Carlito's neighbour used the bike to bring him food. The dog recognised it and jumped on the bike after seeing it.

"Chuchu might have thought he was going to see Carlito again but that wasn't the case. We took him to the home where he was laying in rest. It was very sad when the dog saw his friend again. I could see that Chuchu was sad."

Neighbours said that Chuchu and Carlito were inseparable, with the dog always tailing his owner wherever he go.

The dog is now being taken care of by Carlito's family.
