A loyal dog was spotted with tears in its eyes as it refused to leave its late owner's coffin.
The touching scene was filmed by the owner's relatives in Lima, Peru, after he died the night before.
In the video, the dog can be seen with its paws on its owner's white coffin as an unnamed woman behind it tries to move it away.
It appears the dog doesn't want to leave and keeps its paws on the wood.
An onlooker can be heard saying they can see a tear in the pooch's eye.
The video has been widely shared on social media and viewers were heartbroken by the scene.
Social media user Carol Elizabeth Jauregui Castillo commented: "They live every joy and every sadness with us...so loyal...so sad."
While Paula Marquez added: "The pain the loyal animal feels for his deceased owner is so sad."
And Angel Paredes Tarazona wrote: "I think it's bad to show them their dead owners as afterwards they suffer."
The dog's owner has not been named in reports and it is unclear who will now look after the dog.
